If we were to own an American multinational conglomerate, we’d probably roll in the best of technology. However, proving that simplicity is indeed a virtue that not all can imbibe, is billionaire and business magnate –Warren Buffet. The 89-year old philanthropist who is known for his humble ways was apparently using an outdated $20 Samsung flip phone until he recently upgraded to the iPhone 11.
Buffet was handed down several iPhone models in the past however he has chosen to steer clear of them, until recently. Admittedly, Apple CEO Tim Cook had also offered to fly to Omaha, Nebraska to persuade Buffet in using the iPhone and personally setting it up for him. Commenting on the switch, Buffet in a statement to CNBC said, “My flip phone is permanently gone,” However, the business giant quickly clarified that he only uses his new iPhone 11 to make and receive voice calls. “You’re looking at an 89-year-old guy who’s barely beginning to get with it,” he added.
In the past, Buffet has admitted to using the Apple iPad to keep track of stock prices. It is also ironic to note that Buffett’s company Berkshire Hathaway is one of the top five Apple shareholders with share worth around $23 billion, despite him owning fewer Apple goodies that most! Well, talk about simple living, high thinking!
