The man whose name is Trump cannot be silenced! Twitter, Facebook, and social media platforms may try to silence him by banning the most-disliked President in American history and his very opinionated persona, but to no avail. Former President Donald Trump first created the not-so-successful “From the Desk of Donald J. Trump” followed by ‘Truth Social.’ The latter is his own social media platform designed to ‘stand up to the tyranny of big tech’ and even compete with the giants of Silicon Valley. Things are looking up for Trump. His side of the truth as Trump Media & Technology Group and Digital World Acquisition have entered into subscription agreements to raise about $1 billion from a group of investors.
According to the Trump Media plan, Truth Social is on stage one of three. The next stage would be a subscription video-on-demand service called TMTG+ comprising entertainment, news, and podcasts. Digital World Acquisition Corp first raised 293 million via an initial public offering, taking a hefty $1.25 billion for Truth Social. According to Wio News, in a press release issued on Saturday, Digital World CEO Patrick Orlando, said, “I am confident that TMTG can effectively deploy this capital to accelerate and strengthen the execution of its business, including by continuing to attract top talent, hire top technology providers, and roll out significant advertising and business development campaigns.”
Trump, who is indefinitely banned from Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube, spoke about the funds raised, ‘$1bn sends an important message to Big Tech that censorship and political discrimination must end.’ He is clearly pointing at social media giants that want him to stay mum. In a statement made a few months ago, Trump said, ‘I created TRUTH Social and TMTG to stand up to the tyranny of Big Tech. We live in a world where the Taliban has a huge presence on Twitter, yet your favorite American President has been silenced.” It looks like the Truth is indeed bursting to make its way out there. It is already showing more promise than The Desk of Donald J. Trump that made no impact whatsoever and didn’t make a speck of difference to any social media platforms.
