Hollywood stars spend an estimated $35,000 getting ready for the Oscars

The much-awaited and hyped-up Oscars are on this weekend. All Hollywood A-listers will be there parading their glitz and glamour. Do you ever wonder how much work and expense is involved for the stars attending the Oscars? According to Forbes Staffer Hannah Elliot’s research, it sums up to a whopping $35,000, and that too is a very conservative estimate.

To arrive at this estimate, Elliot used similar services the celebrities use when getting ready for the big day. As you can see in the video, her expenses for the make-believe trip to the Oscars included Oscar de la Renta gown, clutch and shoes, Tenoverten Salon for nail services, DEX New York for hair, and makeup, designer coat from Bibhu Mohapatra, jewelry from David Yurman, car services from Gotham Dream Cars and finally, stylist Annabel Tollman for styling her look.

Of course, none of the stars actually have to bear these expenses themselves. They are generously paid for by the Studios, who pick up the cost of car services and stylists. Their one-of-a-kind couture clothing is pitched on them by designers who all too ready to oblige in return for some serious name dropping. The 84th Annual Oscars will be on this Sunday, and I, for one, will be glued to my flat-screen TV ogling at all the glamourous gowns.
