JK Rowling hits gold with her $4million Edinburgh mansion

When it comes to real estate, it’s more like a house picking you rather than the other way around. At least that explains why JK Rowling purchased a 17th century mansion in Edinburgh after going through only two of the 31 room house. The £2.5m ($4million) property, which will be home to the 44-year old author, her husband and their three young children, is a three-storey mansion.

The 31 rooms include 13-bedrooms; a games room and a bar look into an ornate garden having tress imported from France! Located at a short drive from her old residence, the Harry Potter author even offered the owner an extra $ 492,000 for a shortened 2-week vacating notice as she wanted to host a Christmas party. That must have been some party!
