In fashion, “serious modelling” seems to be the next big career craze among star kids. Kendall Jenner may be the most popular these days, but other star kids on the rise are Brooklyn Beckham, Rafferty Law, Ireland Baldwin, Gigi and Bella Hadid and Georgia May Jagger. It’s hardly a surprise then that Lily Rose Depp (who won the genetic lottery as the daughter of Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis) has been snapped up by Chanel to star in the eyewear campaign at just 16.
It’s not totally out of the blue considering that papa Depp has often been spotted at Chanel shows and mom Paradis has appeared in a number of Chanel campaigns. Karl Lagerfeld, who reportedly handpicked the teenager to become the face of the brand had great things to say about her, “Lily-Rose is stunning. She’s a young girl from a new generation with all the qualities of a star.”
Is this just a passing trend? Or will star kids like North West soon rule the fashion industry too?
