It isn’t uncommon for us to hear about Kendall Jenner’s increasing net worth every now and then. However, in what could be a classic case of turned tables, we have news of the model being slapped with a $1.8M lawsuit for allegedly breaching a photoshoot contract with Italian fashion brand – Liu Jo.
As per reports, Jenner was contractually bound to do one photoshoot for Liu Jo’s Spring/Summer 2020 campaign and another for its Fall/Winter 2020 campaign. The deal was effectuated in 2019 for $1.5 million “plus a 20 percent service fee.” However, over a period of time, things turned sour between the two parties.
Commenting on it, Liu Jo, in a statement, said, “By late September 2020, it became clear that Ms. Jenner had no intention to fulfill her obligations under the agreement by performing the second photoshoot [on a rescheduled date in] October 2020.”
The marquee also stated that Jenner claimed that she was unable to travel to Italy due to her health concerns relating to the coronavirus pandemic,” but was “at the same time…repeatedly reported to be violating CDC guidelines by engaging in multiple international non-essential trips and hosting large parties with her friends.”
However, Jenner’s agency, The Society Management, deemed the lawsuit non-meritorious. They further claimed to have made many attempts to compromise with Liu Jo, offering to even. arrange a shoot in the USA. The company also clarified that there was no intention on Jenner’s part to break the deal.
In an official statement, it said, ‘The Society Management, on behalf of Ms. Kendall Jenner, has continually offered Liu Jo alternative dates and locations to fulfill an agreement that was forced to be delayed because of the coronavirus pandemic.’
Well, what pans out for the Keeping up with the Kardashians star is for time to tell!
