Lagerfeld, Furstenberg, H&M and others have designed Lady Gaga’s wedding dress

When Lady Gaga drops an engagement bombshell, the world sits up to take notice! The singer’s boyfriend Taylor Kinney popped the question on Valentine’s Day earlier this year and sealed the deal with a staggering 15 carat heart shaped diamond engagement ring from Lorraine Schwartz. The diamond studded band also features the pair’s initials: TS (the S is for Stephanie, Lady Gaga’s real first name). The superstar songstress hasn’t yet planned a concept for her dress yet, but she wants Kinney to like the design. “I haven’t really thought about anything specific yet,” She told WWD, “But whatever it is, it will be totally for him.” WWD meanwhile, asked some of the biggest names in fashion to imagine the wedding dress that would capture Gaga’s personality and they received some truly spectacular sketches.

Mara Hoffman’s design was one of our favorites thanks to the addition of a stunning flower filled veil to complement the column gown decked with large rosettes while Karl Largerfeld thought of creating a princess moment with a tight bodice and a full tiered skirt. At Monique Lhullier, traditional white was swapped for a peachy shade in a classic mermaid silhouette with embellishments on the top half and a ruffled skirt. Francisco Costa’s design captured the Calvin Klein minimalism that ruled the ‘90s with simple slip dress style design and swirling skirt.
We also loved Charles Youssef’s geometric headpiece and H and M’s fantastical black and nude creation. Click through the slideshow above for all the designs.
