The eccentric couple has sealed the deal with the most unusual yet most gorgeous engagement rings. Fox’s engagement ring is a dazzling jewel that her now-fiancé designed in collaboration with British jeweler Stephen Webster. Fox announced their big news with a three-camera Instagram video that showed him down on one knee at the Ritz Carlton Dorado Beach resort.
The details of the ring were shared by the man himself on Instagram, where he revealed he proposed with two rings that combine into one with the help of a magnet to form a dark heart. We couldn’t expect anything less from the pair. In an Instagram post, machine gun Kelly showed off the ring to fans and captioned, ‘yes, in this life and every life. Beneath the same branches we fell in love under, I brought her back to ask her to marry me. I know tradition is one ring, but I designed it with Stephen Webster to be two: the emerald (her birthstone) and the diamond (my birthstone) set on two magnetic bands of thorns that draw together as two halves of the same soul forming the obscure heart that is our love. 1-11-2022.”
That sounds exceptionally romantic now, doesn’t it? But the pair is not known for their sweet, soft ways, and neither is the ring. The ring that holds a teardrop-shaped Colombian emerald is designed to feel like thorns if taken off. “The diamond came directly from Stephen. When they are together [the emerald and the diamond], they are held in place by a magnet. They form a dark heart. See this here? The top part is thorns. So if [Megan] tries to take the ring off, it’s going to hurt,” explained Machine Gun Kelly to L’Officiel USA. Sahar Manley, owner of jewelry label Camilla Seretti said, “It appears that each gemstone is 7 carats, which would make the ring valued at nearly $500,000. Enlisting an expert like Stephen Webster to perfect the custom ring was a smart and thoughtful move to truly master the piece.” As per the Insider, Kathryn Money, senior vice president of merchandising and retail at Brilliant Earth, estimated that Fox’s ring cost between $300,000 to $400,000 depending on the quality and specific characteristics of the center and side stones. Megan and Kelly met as co-stars filming their upcoming movie Midnight In The Switchgrass.
