Sex and the City will always be one of the most iconic and best-loved shows to ever come out of New York; it was also the show that shot Sarah Jessica Parker into superstardom and cemented her status as a fashion icon. Even after two movies have celebrated the lives of our favorite New York ladies, fans of the show are thirsting for more additions to the franchise.
So when SJP posted an image of herself leaving Bloomingdale’s clad in a chic white dress and holding one of the department store’s medium brown bags with the caption: “Well. I guess the cat’s out of the (little brown) bag. As usual, we will keep you posted on every detail as we are able. I’m under a strict gag order until then. Xx, Sj” the internet exploded in a frenzy of SATC3 rumors.
Unfortunately, we know that there is no new Sex and the City project in the pipeline. Not only has Warner Brothers officially denied any existence of a new SATC movie, but Parker herself cleared up the confusion in another Instagram post this time from the account of SJP Collection her footwear line stating: Pinch me, I’m dreaming. After months and months of sworn secrecy, I can finally shout the news from the rooftop. Or even better, from the iconic @bloomingdales awning. Welcome to New York, @sjpcollection. SATC fans may be disappointed now, but there’s no need to lose hope. Producer Michael Patrick King has stated in the past that another sequel is not off the table. Kristin Davis who played Charlotte in the series recently said on the Today Show that she does not know much about the prospect of another SATC movie, but if plans do take off she would be on board.
