Just recently, we told you about the efforts of philanthropists, Warren Buffet and Bill and Melinda Gates, who are encouraging the wealthy folks to donate their wealth to charity. Setting an example to society, Buffet has kept his pledge to give away 99% of his wealth and donated a cool $1.93 billion to five charitable foundations. Out of the $1.93 billion, he donated $1.6 billion to the charitable foundation created by Bill Gates and his wife, Melinda. The rest was donated to foundations set up in the name of Mr. Buffett’s late wife, Susan, and their three children. Mr. Buffet, the owner of investment company Berkshire Hathaway, donated a higher sum this year than last year’s $1.5 billion as his performance improved a great deal this year.
A trustee of the Gates Foundation, Mr. Buffet, has set an example to society with his generous donations.
