Jaguar reveals the 2014 XJ

Jaguar has updated its luxurious saloon XJ. The 2014 sedan model incorporates best in class cabin features, comfort and in-car technology.

The 3.0-liter V6 petrol and diesel engines, as well as two supercharged 5.0-liter units delivering 510PS, and 550PS power the new Jaguar 2014 XJ. An eight-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters power charges the engine. It enables the model to sprint from 0 to 60 mph in 4.4 seconds (0-100km/h in 4.6 seconds) and hit an electronically-limited top speed of 174 mph (280 km/h). The car includes an Intelligent Stop-Start system, which uses a Twin Solenoid Starter (TSS) to shut down the engine when the car comes to a halt, and restart it in literally milliseconds. It features newly designed 18-inch Manra lightweight forged alloy wheels, with a soft closing door technology, which ensures that the doors of the XJ are securely closed with minimum exertion and undue noise.

On the inside, the XJ is equipped with aircraft-inspired rear seats that recline, have three massage programs – Wave/Rolling, Lumbar and Shoulder – and offer a number of adjustments. The rear suspension of the LWB XJ has also been upgraded to improve rear ride comfort. One of the best additions to the Jaguar, is the upgraded audio system, with the ‘Conversation Assist’ feature. It uses microphones above each occupant and uses processing technology to ‘reinforce’ the occupants’ voice through the car’s speakers, making it easier for occupants to hear each other. The upgraded version also features two 10.2-inch touch screens which can display video from the DVD player, digital TV tuner or an external media player. Like the previous model, the rear seat entertainment is managed by a wireless controller housed in the center console which also allows passengers to alter their individual climate zones and seat heating and cooling functions.

The 2014 Jaguar XJ has various color options like, Polaris White, Ebony, Ultimate Black, Stratus Gray, Lunar Gray, Rhodium Silver, Cashmere, Osmium Blue, Dark Sapphire, Caviar, Carnelian Red, Black Amethyst, Italian Racing Red, British Racing Green and Satellite Gray. The expected price is between ₹ 1.16 – 1.84 crores.
