Automobili Lamborghini SpA, the premium sportscar maker owned by Volkswagen through its Audi unit, has been in India since 2001 and is a leading player in the luxury super sports car segment. The Italian automaker globally unveiled the Huracan LP610-4 at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show in March this year, and the successor of the hugely popular Gallardo has finally arrived on Indian shores. On Monday, Lamborghini launched the all-new Huracan in India for a whopping Rs 3.43 crore (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Gallardo was discontinued earlier this year which means the Huracan will be the entry-level ticket for anyone who wants to be a part of the Lamborghini family.
The Huracan boasts of a naturally aspirated V10 engine with 5.2 litre displacement. This allows it to accelerate from 0-100 kmph in 3.2 seconds and achieve a maximum speed of 325 kmph. For the first time, Lamborghini will be introducing the 7-speed dual clutch transmission and an all-wheel drive that also features a new hydraulic multi-plate clutch. Three driving modes are available from road to race track and these can be selected using a switch on the steering wheel. The system has been named ANIMA (Italian for soul) – Adaptive Network Intelligent Management. Lamborghini has two exclusive showrooms in Delhi and Mumbai that have been accepting booking for the Huracan since January 2014.
