LL Delhi, Past and Future: A look back at the month of June and what the first week of July has in store too

delhi-eventsLast month was rather exciting for us at LL Delhi (you’ll soon know why). And in that spirit, we decided to dish out for you, a lustworthy list of six. So along with sharing what we did and what exciting reads to expect from us, we’re combining the film and the music, the laughs and the launches. Here are our best picks.

Christian Dior
Yeap. We’re bringing out the big guns first. For everything from checking out clothes of seasons past and present (and some talk of future) at the Dior boutique in Emporio to lunching with the fabulous Dior Couture team, including Kalyani Chawla herself, went down this past month. Store review and some stunning photos coming up soon!

Le Cirque, The Leela Palace
Charming us next was Chef Mickey Bhoite, with not just course after ravishing course but also interesting anecdotes of his days in Italy and biking trips. From toasting to Sirrio Maccioni or Mr. Le Cirque himself to tasting whiskey based berry drinks paired with mozzarella burratas, we had done it all by the time June came to an end. Details go online next week.

Hauz Khas Social
Or what happens when food and drink are mixed with work and music (in equal parts, we hope). This rather unique co working space and restaurant housed in the heart of Hauz Khas Village is finally being launched officially! What we’re very keen to learn is how they’ve managed to wrap several workstations, street art, uber high-speed Internet and a bar, all in one building. Then again, given that this is yet another one of those places with Impressario’s Riyaaz Amlani behind them, we can’t help but think the answer can be nothing short of exciting.

Filme a l’alliance francaise
If you’re not too busy catching yet another Transformer film this Friday then we say you head over to Lodhi Road for a film cum brushing up your French at Alliance Française de Delhi. This week Ciné-Club is presenting ‘Sur la planche’/ ‘On the Edge’ by Leïla Kilani. This 2012 release talks about four 20 years old women, workers divided into two industries: textiles and prawns, whose obsession is to move. Yep, we’re wondering how it’ll all end for Badia, Imane, Asma and Nawal too. Find out Friday 4th July 2014 at 6.30pm.

Summer House Swing-ing and more
Starting with Kohra and Alter State’s combined take on house and techno music this Friday (find event details here), Aurobindo Market’s freshest entrant Summer House Café takes the weekend to Hang Loose’s almost iconic of Electro Swing Sensation nights on Saturday (find event details here). We’re marking our gig calendars with both!

Older Angrier Hairier and Uncensored
Yep, that’s what you’ll get if you head to Blue Frog this Saturday where Radhika Vaz will have you in splits with her sophomore effort, ‘Older. Angrier. Hairier.’ Before DJ Sa and Su-Real continue the reveling at DJ Sa Uncensored, with Old Skool, Hip Hop and Trap. We can’t seem to think of any other place putting the party into the weekend like that. (Find details here and here.)
