A $5,000 leotard dazzles to mark the 50th anniversary of USA Gymnastics

Commemorating the 50th Anniversary of USA Gymnastics, GK Elite Sportswear, L.P., with support from Swarovski Elements, has created a charming patriotic leotard. Designed by Erica Jones of GK, the leotard created boasts of 7,000 handsets and heat transferred Swarovski Elements embellished atop rich royal mystique fabric. Erica says that the premium brand has been generous enough to allow her to select from an array of jewel types and hues. Of which, the designer chose bright and vibrant stones such as Topaz, Dark Indigo, Sapphire Satin, Chalk White, Golden Shadow, Air Blue Opal, and Indian Siam, all donated by Swarovski Elements.

The approximate retail value of the jewel embellished leotard is $5,000. This is the second leotard donation from GK. The outfit that is part of the brand’s couture collection would be put up for a charity raffle, which will be held from August 15 to August 17, during the USA Gymnastics National Congress & Trade Show in Hartford, C.T. The proceeds from the raffle will benefit Right to Play, a non-profit organization working towards using sports and play to educate and empower children and youth to overcome the effects of poverty, conflict, and disease in disadvantaged communities. Participants can purchase raffle tickets for five dollars, 100 percent of the proceeds going directly to Right to Play.
