Actress and humanitarian Angelina Jolie is the face of Guerlain’s new fragrance: Mon Guerlain. The company’s website says that the fragrance is a tribute to today’s femininity which is a strong, free and sensual femininity, inspired by Jolie. Mon Guerlain is a fresh oriental scent that uses exotic ingredients like Carla Lavender from Provence, Sambac Jasmine from India, Album Sandalwood from Australia and Vanilla Tahitensis from Papua New Guinea to form a captivating fragrance.
The fragrance is captured in the brand’s iconic “quadrilobe” bottle which was created in 1908. The simple and graphic bottle’s design echoes an alchemist’s bottle and owes its name to its stopper, which is crafted from one piece to obtain a shape resembling four lobes. Today’s bottle features a gold adornment on the neck and serves up a contrast between strong taut lines and sensual curves, expressing contemporary femininity.
While the perfume itself is available in 30 50 and 100ml flacons, the Mon Guerlain collection also includes large 250ml and 500 ml bottles of the same perfume. These larger versions are sold in Guerlain’s Golden Bee bottle which was originally created in 1853 by the glassmakers Pochet & du Courval for the eau de cologne developed for the Empress Eugenia. A body lotion and a shower gel are also part of the collection.
