Beyonce made history this year, becoming the first black woman to headline the world famous music festival Coachella with her fantastic 2 hour performance that paid tribute to the Historically Black Colleges of the USA. Bey and her backup dancers sported varsity inspired looks designed by Balmain’s Olivier Rousteing. Now fans will have a chance to be a part of Beychella fever thanks to the launch of a new Balmain x Beyonce capsule collection.
The collection features cropped hoodies and t-shirts inspired by Beyonce’s varsity glam Coachella looks. Items in the collection feature the sorority-esque BAK logo that was splashed across Bey’s own yellow hoodie. Proceeds from the sales of this collection will benefit the United Negro College Fund, an organization that helps African American students receive a college education.
“After experiencing that beautiful partnership, we weren’t ready to just walk away without adding gone final, perfecting touch. This collection of hoodies and tees, based on key designs from our Coachella efforts, responds to our need to repay an obvious debt for the inspiration we received from the signature spirit and legacy of America’s historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs). Which is why we are so very pleased to announce that proceeds from this collection will help fund the impressive work of the United Negro College Fund (UNCF)—helping to guarantee that tomorrow’s leaders will be able to attend college, thrive and graduate,” said Rousteing.
You can get your piece of the collection online and at select retailers from July 14. Prices range between $290 and- $1,790.
