Bowes Museum hosts Yves Saint Laurent’s first UK exhibition

We love Yves Saint Laurent. We love him for his taste in art, beauty and style. We love him for his fashion. And what is not to love in the man who gave fashion a whole new planet of splendor and glamour. Creations from Saint Laurent’s journey will be showcased in an exhibition in the UK for the first time for the first time at the Bowes Museum in Durham County.

As in the legend’s famous philosophy that while fashion fades, style is eternal, 50 iconic garments from his rich career will be displayed at the museum, a French-styled chateau in Barnard Castle. The collection will include his famed fashion statements such as the female tuxedo, pea jacket and trench coat, the safari jacket, the jumpsuit, the pantsuits, the Piet Mondrian –inspired dresses, the George Braque-inspire dress and the Russian collection. Also on display will be accessories, drawing and paper patterns and other objects.
‘Yves Saint Laurent: Style is eternal’ will run from July 11 to October 25.
