Italian footwear brand Berluti and French Champagne house Krug have joined hands in an unlikely but welcome collaboration. Both brands belong to the LVHM conglomerate and have planned a long term partnership. The first offering from this collaboration is the Krug patina shoe in a “black cherry” leather. The deep red shoe is a tribute to the founder of the Champagne house Joseph Krug. He always carried a notebook in this particular color to record his thoughts and ideas.
The houses have also taken the opportunity to propose an original tasting of Krug Champagnes, each paired with a Berluti shoe model. In addition to the patinas, Berluti and Krug will together create a collection of “Krug by Berluti” bags.
In the past Johnnie Walker and Oliver Sweeney have collaborated over a cool pair of men’s shoes. Maybe alcohol and men’s footwear are the next big thing in fashion!
