Bottega Veneta’s new handbag collection is made from recycled cardboard paper

Going green seems to be the trend! Several fashion giants have announced steps towards sustainable production in recent times, with Bottega Veneta being one of them. And in furthering its promise on eco-friendly fashion, the marquee has launched an unusual bag line that is made using corrugated cardboard paper. Yes, that’s right!

Christened as the Kraft Paper, the ingenious line features classic bag designs reinterpreted using 100 percent recycled and FSC certified paper. It forms part of Daniel Lee’s Pre-Fall 2020 creations for the house and is a fresh take on iconic design patterns. To create the products, cardboard paper has been treated with an aliphatic polyurethane film and microfiber fabric for protection and durability. It is further crumpled to add a raw yet aesthetic appeal to the collection.

Complete with the Pouch ($2680), the Shoulder Pouch ($3,200 and $2850), the BV Twist ($1,740) or the Mini Pouch ($1590), items in the collection are lined with calf leather and supported with a magnetic frame for a sturdy outcome. The BV Twist bag is further adorned with a zip opening and internal pocket for optimal use.

The exclusive Bottega Veneta ‘Kraft Paper’ bags are currently available for sale online on the brand’s official webpage. Fancy adding an ‘eco-friendly’ version to your handbag ensemble?
