Christopher Raeburn creates Mickey and Minnie Mouse bags in a new capsule collection for Disney

British designer and Victorinox Artistic Director, Christopher Raeburn has been roped in to create a capsule collection for Disney. His collection pays tribute to the classic characters of Mickey and Minnie Mouse through unisex bags that were created in the shape of the characters. To create the bags, the designer used ethically sourced black Nappa leather and organic indigo denim milled in Europe.

“The design was honed over a whole year, working with Disney’s character artist,” said Raeburn. “We also worked hard to source the best materials and reduce waste on the packaging. “

The bags feature a zipped pocket and adjustable shoulder straps. Raeburn’s manufacturing partner, Avery Dennison RBIS designed the reusable packaging for the bags. The bags will hit the shelves of Selfridges and The Conran Shop in London today. Other select retailers will feature the bags in other cities. The Minnie bag is also available in pink Nappa leather and this version will be sold exclusively at Selfridges.

“To work with the Walt Disney Company is not only a huge honor, but it’s also thrilling to create something that really represents exactly what we’re about as a brand,” Christopher Raeburn told Fucking Young, “Collaboration, playfulness and innovative design are in our DNA, and this project has all these elements.”
