Costing $1.3 million for a bottle, the worlds most expensive perfume comes to Dubai

If someone asked me where I would find the most expensive perfume in the world, my answer would unquestionably be Dubai; after all the Emirati is well-known for its luxurious appetite and glamorous palate.

Our muse for today is “The Spirit of Dubai Parfums by Nabeel”, and if it ranks high on your bucket list, you may be compelled to cash in your 401K’s. The epitome of luxury, the SHUMUKH is valued at a whopping Dhs4.752 million (USD $1.295 million).

Everything associated with this perfume is exclusive and extravagant; from its unveiling at the Burj Khalifa’s Armani Ballroom to the ritzy guest list involved.

Mr. Asghar Adam Ali, Founder & Chairman of Nabeel Perfumes Group of Companies, Master Perfumer and Designer of SHUMUKH said, “My vision was not only to capture Dubai’s persona in one monumental piece of art, but to also create a fragrance that embodied the pinnacle of luxury in the world of perfumery.”

You possibly have the same question that crossed my mind; what does a Dhs4.752 million fragrance actually smell like? Notes of amber, sandalwood, rare pure Indian agarwood, musk, pure Turkish rose, patchouli ylang-ylang, and frankincense can be noted. It is rumoured to last on the skin for more than 12 hours and up to 30 days on fabric.
Of course, the price it’s commanding is only justified by its casing. The perfume is embedded within a casing that stands at 1.97 meters tall with a hand-blown Italian Murano glass bottle, that has the capacity to hold three liters of perfume, that is dispensed via a revolutionary remote-controlled spray mechanism that adjusts to the user’s ideal height. The casing comprises of 3,571 sparkling diamonds, topaz, pearls, 18 karat gold 2479.26 grams and 5892.88 grams pure silver.

SHUMUKH’s exclusivity further lies in the fact that it’s the only perfume that has bagged two Guinness World Record titles, including ‘Most diamonds set on a perfume bottle’, and ‘Tallest remote controlled (RC) fragrance spray product’.

From 14-3- March 2019, steal a glimpse of SHUMUKH at The Dubai Mall’s Fashion Avenue as part of the mall’s ART+ series.
