Edgardo Osorio is taking a break from helming the ship at Aquazzura to design a capsule collection for Salvatore Ferragamo. The capsule collection marks the 100th anniversary of the company’s collaboration with Hollywood. These 12 party ready styles use a range of colors and materials from patent leather, suede, napa to cork, and embellishments that include bows, lace, wings, stones and even feathers.
“Edgardo’s South American culture and his sophisticated creative aesthetic embody Ferragamo’s lifestyle. The collection perfectly reinterprets the real spirit of Salvatore: ironic, playful, attentive to details, creative with a touch of originality, all combined with comfort and luxury,” Massimiliano Giornetti (creative director at Salvatore Ferragamo) told Women’s Wear Daily.
“For me it’s an honor to reinterpret the extraordinary style of Salvatore Ferragamo for a new generation of women,” Edgardo Osorio remarked, “This collaboration is very important for me because it marks the first 10 years of my career, which started in Ferragamo at 19: my first job in the world of luxury footwear.”
