Frank Gehry has created stunning perfume bottles for Louis Vuitton

If you’re an LV buff wanting to fill your closet with every new thing that the brand launches – you basically cannot miss out on this one! We’re talking about the marquee’s novel perfume bottles that are just as mesmerizing to the eyes as they are to the rest of your senses.

Called ‘Les Extraits,’ the collection features five new fragrances (Dancing Blossom,’ ‘Cosmic Cloud,’ ‘Rhapsody,’ ‘Symphony,’ and ‘Stellar Times) by the brand’s master perfumer, Jacques Cavallier-Belletrud, in bottles designed by Frank Gehry. As strange as it may sound, the bottles come with no top, heart, and base notes.

Commenting on it, Cavallier-Belletrud said, ‘I wanted to venture where no one goes anymore. To reinvent the notion of an Extrait [the most highly concentrated form of perfume] in a contemporary way.’ The master perfumer has instead tried to give each fragrance ‘a twist, expand them, exaggerate certain facets, and reveal purity.”

Housing the perfumes perfectly are ‘rounded, caressing forms’ in the form of decanters that depict movement with a curved glass body and a crumpled aluminum top that sways like fabric caught in the wind. They further come wrapped in a complimentary leather case with similar, twisting shapes.

Remarking on the bottles, Gehry, in a statement, said, ‘How do we make it so captivating that it catches the eye and says something both about the house and its contents? That’s how we started looking at these shapes. We wanted to create something that elicits emotion. That brings a sensation to life. That when you look at it, you say, “Oh!” Then when you smell it, you say, “Ah!”’
