Olivier Rousteing is known for his exquisite Balmain creations (sported proudly by members of the Kardashian-Jenner clan among other celebrities) and has even briefly lent his aesthetic to H&M. The French designer has now been roped in by Nike for a collaboration that will be part of NikeLab’s Summer of Sport series. The collection will be inspired by football and Nike has called it “Football Nouveau.”
This is one of the most glamorous athleisure lines of the year. Picture plenty of matte black fabric with shiny gold details. Modern silhouettes define the collection designed to improve performance but also to introduce a refined aesthetic. “Fashion is usually about the catwalk and the glamour, but with Nike it was about performance and the athletes,” said Rousteing. “What I love about this collection is that we are integrating the iconic style of football into sport style.”
Look out for jackets, t-shirts, footwear as well as work-out ready leggings, track pants and shorts. The collection will hit the NikeLab stores and e-store on June 2.
