The Middle East is a huge and still largely untapped market for luxury brands. While there are plenty of designer stores to be found in the oil rich countries, few of them offer products that are catered specifically to their target customers. Now the Italian design house Dolce and Gabbana is taking the first step in that direction with a new collection of abayas and hijabs.
The abayas have been created using neutral colors in fabrics like satin and georgette; several of them feature lace details and fun Dolce and Gabbana prints including lemons, roses and daisies. The collection is Arabic in style and Italian inspirit.
The images we’ve seen so far feature the beautiful collection accessorized with D and G’s colorful and splashy jewelry including embellished sunglasses, bling-y jewelry and a long list of covetable handbags. We don’t have any word on when the collection will be available or what its price range will be but we certainly hope other brands will follow suit.
