Come Spring 2016, your kids might be sporting some of Karl Lagerfeld’s collection. The creative director of Chanel, Fendi and his own label has decided to shift his focus from his beloved cat to invest some time into creating a children’s fashion line. The planned line will cater to babies, children, pre-teens and teens starting right from newborns up to 16 year olds. Lagerfeld’s idea of expanding his line could not have been to a better audience, especially since other fashion houses like Marc Jacobs, Burberry, DNKY and Chloé, all have childrenswear under their belts. The accessories and ready-to-wear collection will be ready come 2016, a wait that would be worth the while. According to sources, the launch will be targeted at Europe, Korea and the Middle East. Not much has been revealed yet, but we think that Karl’s ramp-walking godson Hudson Kroenig has definitely been an inspiration.
The 81-year old fashion designer, who is not new to ‘the firsts’ after launching a newspaper and his own Barbie doll is sure to make the world ogle at his trendy, young, rock-inspired designs.
