LVMH training center opens up in Singapore

LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton, better known as LVMH, opened a managerial training center in Singapore yesterday. This will be the first such institute outside of Europe for the luxury conglomerate. Singapore was a natural choice for the company as it is fast emerging as a global economic capital. The LVMH Asia Pacific Talent Development Centre will focus on developing management talent from Singapore, Hong Kong, and Shanghai. The 6,000 square- foot facility is located on Orchard Road, Singapore’s famous shopping district. It will house numerous training rooms as well as displays of flagship goods from LVMH’s many labels. The Singapore Economic Development Board was involved in setting up the Institute.

The center will collaborate with INSEAD, NUS (National University of Singapore), and SMU (Singapore Management University). It will also host mentoring programs and train managers from various levels.
LVMH’s executive vice president, Chantal Gaemperle, has also indicated that “high-level management transfers within the LVMH eco-system” can be expected.
