Maker of the AK-47 has announced an interest and intention to launch a clothing range for men. The Kalashnikov Concern is geared to create “military-style” clothing, which it hopes to sell across 60 stories, across Russia. Economic sanctions on exports from Russia cut off bulk sales it attracted from Europe, which took up to 70 percent of its hunting and sporting weapons.
The brand’s marketing director has pointed out that other tough non-apparel brands have embarked into fashion, so why shouldn’t the Kalashnikov? Right said Fred. Or, Vladimir Dmitriyev. Military clothing and accessories are evergreen and this one is ready for the kill, it looks like.
