We love to follow Michael Kors on Instagram and now the designer has launched a digital initiative called #InstaKors, which enables over 3.1 million of its followers to purchase products they like from Michael Kors Instagram feed. Michael Kors sure knows how to use social media well and we are #headoverheels its new initiative.
With an increasing amount of digital noise surrounding retail shopping, Instagram is more relevant to brands than ever. What Instagram offers is a combination of early availability and instant gratification which is why it is being smartly leveraged for e-commerce before the outcry about how the ‘photo-sharing app” doesn’t work for e-commerce can even get that loud. But since Instagram doesn’t have a shopping cart function, Michael Kors is cashing in hashtags into shopping shortcuts.
Customers can sign up on michaelkors.com using their e-mail address and Instagram handle. Once registered, followers who have liked a photo with the #InstaKors hashtag on the brand’s Instagram account will receive direct link to buy the featured product.
Over 60 products featuring the hashtag #InstaKors are up on the brand’s Instagram account until Christmas.
