Montblanc’s first pop-up store marks the President’s inauguration in the US


To mark the US Presidential Inauguration, European luxury brand Montblanc will make a stop in Washington, D.C. from January 18 to 22. The brand has collaborated with St. Regis Washington, D.C., and publisher Thornwillow Press for their first pop-up store in the USA, located in the hotel’s lobby. The store will house accessories such as cufflinks, pens, timepieces, and leather goods in addition to a bound book of Barack Obama’s first inaugural address. With their “America’s Signatures for Freedom” collection, a series of limited edition fountain pens launched in 2007, the brand will also pay tribute to other notable American leaders such as Thomas Jefferson, Andrew Jackson, James Madison, and John Adams. A hand-printed letterpress book by Thornwillow Press, “A Presidential Miscellany,” by Lewis Lapham, which recounts highlights from past inaugurations, will be given to hotel guests that week and also sold at the shop.

That’s not all, in a bid to provide an extraordinary experience; visitors will be allowed to use Montblanc pens and stationery to write letters to President Obama, which St. Regis butlers will deliver to the White House.
