Ladurée and Nina Ricci create a macaron and fragrance inspired by one another

They say there’s always a first time. For all we know, “they” might just be Ladurée and Nina Ricci. The two together have done what they do best but in a feat that couldn’t have been possible without the other. Nina Ricci and famous French pastry maker Ladurée teamed up. They created a tempting fragrance and macaron duo where the former is inspired by delectable macarons and the latter by the luxury perfume. Talk about mutual (luxe) admiration!

Ladurée’s renowned double-decker almond pastry may have made its way into the hearts of many, The Landmark Mandarin Oriental included (exclusive Ladurée macaron anyone?) But never before could someone have imagined that it would find a sweet spot in the heart of a fragrance, let alone a Nina Ricci. Once it did find its way through, it seeped into ‘La Tentation de Nina’ over months with the help of professional nose Olivier Cresp and pastry chef Vincent Lemains.

This fruity-floral essence comes in the signature apple-shaped flacon and combines Italian bergamot and grapefruit with Bourbon vanilla, white musk, and sandalwood. These notes are enhanced by a macaron accord, characterized by raspberry, almond, lemon and Bulgarian rose absolute. The macaron accord is replicated in its dedicated Ladurée macaron, which also bears the name “La Tentation de Nina.”
