Porsche Design never ceases to impress. Their latest endeavor is a tribute, a commemorative piece to celebrate 40 years of the studio. Yes, nearly four decades ago, Professor Ferdinand Alexander Porsche founded the Porsche Design studio and his own luxury brand Porsche Design. The studio’s first product was the black Chronograph I, which created a revolution of sorts in the watch industry. The timepiece was followed by exclusive spectacles that became the world’s most successful sunglasses ever. To commemorate 40 years of producing luxurious products that redefined and set new standards each and every time, Porsche Design has created the limited edition “40Y of Iconic Products” anniversary set. The set houses the new release of the Chronograph I from the “Iconic Style” collection and includes the legendary exclusive P’8478 sunglasses.
The chronograph is a stunning masterpiece in an exclusive, matt silver grey. The case is titanium and measures 40.5mm. It has an AR-coated sapphire crystal and is water-resistant to 100 meters.
Powered by the Swiss automatic ETA caliber Valjoux 7750 with 25 jewels, 28,800 vph, this timepiece has a power reserve of 48 hours and boasts of a Porsche Design rotor.
The sunglasses, a special 40-year version, bear the logo on the temples, and the inside surfaces adopt the color scheme of the red second hand of the Chronograph I as an homage to the past four decades of the brand.
The special anniversary set is limited to 911 pieces only.
