Porsche Design goes White

There was a time when you saw a white ca, you’d think it was a private taxi. Well, that is the case in India at least. Conversely, white is probably the hottest color for cars nowadays internationally. And Porsche knows that as well as anyone else, and its merchandising division, Porsche Design, is celebrating the trend with a line of products in hot white instead of the usual black. The new Porsche Design White Collection is highlighted by a white version of the company’s award-winning mobile phone. Other items range from pens to jackets, laptop cases to sunglasses, and jewelry to lighters. With regard to the breaking away from Porsche Design’s typical Black ensemble, Managing Director, Porsche Design Studio in Zell am See, Austria, Mr. Roland Heiler explained, “The color white stands for purity and also highlights the shape of the product. These characteristics make white an excellent medium for our minimalist design language.”

The collection goes on sale in May 2008 in Porsche Design Stores. Porsche Design products are sold in their own retail and franchise stores, shop-in-shops, upmarket department stores, and exclusive specialist stores.
