Fairy tales are meant to be lavish and grand; they are, after all, figments of our imagination. But designer Rhea Nasta brought Cinderella’s story alive and made it even more opulent by changing one minor detail: she replaced the boring glass shoe with a white gold one studded with 1,200 diamonds. Drawing the India International Jewellery Week (IIJW) to a close, the designer ended the event with a high with choreographer Sandip Soparrkar and his wife Jesse Randhawa performing the Cinderalla act to unveil what Nasta calls a piece of art. Soon to be auctioned, the bidding for the dazzling footwear will start at $ 214,660. So now ladies will have a diamond shoe to strut around in, just like their male counterparts.
