Samsung has announced designer jeans that cost $1,000 and has only one pocket that is specially designed to carry their flip phone.

Think Samsung, and what comes to mind are phones, fridges, or a whole lot of other appliances. However, in a pleasant surprise of sorts, the marquee is now set to make an advent into the world of inventive wearables. In a partnership with Australia’s most beloved jeans brands -Dr Denim, Samsung has recently launched a pair of jeans with a dedicated Galaxy Z Flip3 pocket that is placed strategically on the right hip and is designed to fit the latest clamshell foldable. Further, the pair has all other pockets sewed shut or removed entirely! While the back pockets on the jeans have been removed (with one ‘flipped’ to the front thigh), the original front pockets have been stitched over with two statement Zs.

Designed mainly to do away with bulky, unfashionable pockets, this one snugly fits the new Galaxy Z Flip3, a device that folds to approximately half the size of a standard flat phone. Remarking on this, the company said, “They (jean pockets) take up too much space, they don’t look stylish, and the latest phones slip and slide inside them…The Z Flip Pocket Denim jeans make big pockets a thing of the past.”

Commenting further, Hayley Walton, Head of Brand Marketing, Samsung Mobile, said, “Smartphones are often not pocket friendly, so we’ve leveraged Dr Denim’s style credentials to design jeans that shake up the pocket norm and perfectly fit our compact Galaxy Z Flip3. Our Galaxy Z Flip3 users expect the very best in design and pocketability, and what better to accompany our premium phones than the perfect pair of bespoke jeans.”

Only 450 pairs of the Z Flip Denim Jeans have been made in both men’s and women’s styles. They retail for a steep $1000 and are currently available online on the Dr Denim website.
