Going to the gym hasn’t always been a Taylor Swift-esque exercise in fashion perfection! Once upon a time, trips to the gym meant baggy sweats and whatever Nikes were cheapest at the Foot Locker. Then came Stella McCartney’s collaboration with Adidas and the beginning of what is now called “athleisure” fashion. Stella’s sports line gave us all a reason to be excited about going for a run, a cool way to flaunt those gym-toned abs.
Stella and Adidas are celebrating 10 years of a successful collaboration with a new collection titled Adidas StellaSport, this time aimed and marketed to an even younger audience. The collection is all about bright hues and easy separates that do double duty as sportswear as well as casual wear. The collection is set to include all manner of active wear including tank tops, bras, leggings, hoodies and sweatshirts as well as other accessories and footwear. Also expect onesies, knee-high socks, trucker hats and backpacks to feature in the collection.
“It takes the Stella girl from the campus to the club and finds a link in sport and technology without sacrificing style,” said Stella McCartney of the collection. “There are signature moments, like our new self-laced sneakers, that give individual personality. These pieces are designed to complement your life and be totally realistic that fashion and sport technology are here to stay as a huge part of our life and wardrobes, and this is the attitude we are shouting about.”
StellaSport will be available from January the 15th at the Adidas website as well as at Topshop and Nordstrom.
