Fusing fashion and function in a unique manner and giving us plenty of new wardrobe goals are Alexander Wang and Adidas Original who recently got together for a novel athleisure collection. Part of Season 5 that debuted in April this year, the new collection dubs as Drop 2 and is every bit of the fun fashion that you’ve been waiting for.
A median between clubwear and sports apparel, the Drop 2 collection features a balanced mix of clothes, accessories and footwear. Inspired by the 80’s- 90’s era, the ensemble boasts quintessential pieces such as crewneck pullovers, track pants and ’80s-style shorts- all emblazoned with embroidered Adidas trefoils. Footwear includes the AW Futureshell sneaker which makes a strong comeback after featuring at Collection 1 runway show in June 2018. The iconic shoe is recreated in silver and a glossy black and is accompanied by a pair of the AW Adilette Lycra slides which come
affixed with a quirky herringbone foxing sole.
However, it’s the accessories in the collection that steal the show. The quirky selection accommodates five-panel hats, duffle bags and fanny packs along with more daring clubbing and exercise essentials such as a sock-legging hybrid in the form of white knitted tights and cotton crew socks with the signature Adidas stripes. The Alexander Wang x Adidas Originals Season 5 Drop 2 collection will be available at the Adidas Originals and Alexander Wang flagship stores as well as online onward May 25.
