Net-a-porter, the online fashion retailer, has been in news for all the right reasons. It has been on a flourishing-spree, with the retailer moving on to new potential markets as: China and USA, and so also getting into collaborations as with Karl Lagerfeld, opening new arenas for sale. Further beckoning and lugging at the reins of ‘success’, Net-a-porter has of-late taken a leap of faith, putting up on sale a $32,000 ready-to-wear – the costliest item ever sold at Net-a-porter.
If you’re still wondering what the ruckus is about, then here’s it – the $32,000 worth ready-to-wear is none other than an alluring dress from the Italian fashion house – Dolce & Gabbana, which has produced only 12 pieces of the blood-red colored dress studded with beads. And by what Ben Mathews, Net-a-Porter’s buying manager, claims, Net-a-Porter has apparently purchased half of the world’s stock! And Net-a-Porter is confident that they would sell all six of them. That’s quite a challenge, don’t you think?
