Milan Fashion Week continues to push forward the envelope, even so virtually. It recently showcased some of the most -fashion-forward designs on the runway and its presentations for the fall 2 season. Of all, the footwear displayed grabbed the most attention for spelling quirk and class in equal volumes.
From Fendi to Salvatore Ferragamo, fashion houses dabbled in futuristic as well as classic silhouettes to create some of the most eye-catchy shoes of all. Here’s our pick of the top three shoe-designs at the Milan Fashion Week Fall 2021 in terms of their quirk quotient:
1. Dolce & Gabbana’s PVC-covered sneakers: Featuring the marquee’s signature logo throughout the upper, the shoes presented a practical yet fun aesthetic. The wacky shoes were created with the aid of multifunctional humanoid robots, as stated by the brand. The D& G snow boots from the show (with holographic chrome, yellow leopard, and rhinestone-embellishments) were also noteworthy.
2. Moschino’s Thigh-High Boots: Ringing on the trend of thigh-high boots, Moschino presented them in a range of colors. To complement the footwear, the brand also unveiled a heeled bootie bag designed like a shoe. Calling it bizarre would be an understatement!
3. Marni’s flat-style and heeled sneaker: Inspired by the American sneaker silhouettes, Marni unveiled pointed-toe sneakers that were quite the buzz. Bearing a Converse-like semblance, the shoes were made available in both a flat style and a high heel bootie.
In addition to these, Prada, Giuseppe Zanotti, and Salvatore Ferragamo also showcased their spin on footwear and more. Well, it looks like wacky just got a whole new meaning at the Milan Fashion Week Fall 2021!
