American fashion house Tommy Hilfiger has partnered with veteran British woolen mill Abraham Moon to design a Tech Tradition capsule collection that pays homage to the typical American aesthetic of Tommy Hilfiger, with designs inspired by the quintessential of the traditional British charm. The collection has a unique blend of technical mountaineering references and traditional plaids that works well from a chalet in Aspen to the streets of New York.
Traditional tartans, an established Hilfiger hallmark, are given an irreverent twist in bespoke checks that appear in various iterations – on brushed wool-cashmere, mohair, and silk. A range of shirt-dress silhouettes trimmed with navy velvet details, suede circle skirts accented with zigzag lock-stitching and tiered prairie skirts in fringed multi-plaid are given a refresh in shrunken proportions.
Time-honored references come in the form of signature plaid prints, teddy-fur bomber jackets layered over textural hand-worked alpine knits; cable-knit patch worked ponchos paired with citified hiking boots and suede boyfriend puffer vests. Everything has a slip-on ease, from oversized shearling-lined parkas to velvet sweatshirts with mini-dress proportions.
Exploration gear inspires imaginative touches like bungee-cord buttonholes and drawstrings, and polished speedlock hooks on footwear. It’s tech meets tradition with an adventure-ready spirit.
