Owning a Hermes Birkin is on every bag lover’s wish list. But while snakeskin and leather seem to be the terms we’d look for; the marquee has gone for veggies instead! No, we’re kidding you not! It has recently introduced an edition of the arm candy that is made purely out of vegetables.
Hermès also revealed the unexpected series of Birkin bags on its official Instagram account. Reinterpreting the iconic Birkin through creative arrangements of asparagus, cabbage, and cucumbers, the three alternative bags are green (of course) and err… a bit weird.
Designed by Ben Denzer, the trio of bags captures subtle details of the iconic accessories like the metal buckles, straps, and handles. Hermes has posted pictures of each bag separately with a caption reading ‘enjoy the detour as classic Hermès bags inspire art good enough to eat.
On the other hand, Denzer put up a detailed account of the production process behind the vegetable bags along with some fruit fails, such as a banana and an apple Birkin that didn’t make the final cut. If, like us, you too cannot afford the real deal, go for the veggie Birkin instead – after all, it is still a Hermes!
