There are never enough reasons to love Victoria Beckham! You might love her for her covetable style sense, her enviable Birkin collection, her sassy Twitter humor or her sleek transition from popstar/footballer’s wife to one of the most well respected names in the fashion industry. She’s been a singer, a model and a designer. Adding another feather to her cap, the British icon designed her first collection of shoes for her Spring 2015 show at New York Fashion Week.
Victoria’s shoe collection was a pleasant surprise with its pointy-toed slip on oxfords and stacked platform sandals. The sandals appeared in a black and leopard avatar while the lace-shoes appeared in minimalist white, wild leopard and painted pink florals. And the best part? There was not a pump in sight! The high heeled pumps that are a signature of Victoria’s personal style found no place on her runways reminding us that with Victoria there’s always more to the story than meets the eye.
Victoria did disappoint us however, by revealing that she has not yet decided to go retail with the shoes. They were created to “complete and strengthen the silhouette” of the designs that she showed us on the runway. There may still be hope! With bloggers and fashion girls expressing their delight over the shoes, we suspect an intelligent buyer may yet convince Mrs. Beckham to make her smart shoes available to the masses. Our fingers are crossed!
