Virgil Abloh designs rainbow-hued sunglasses for Louis Vuitton

If there’s one thing that has got to be trendy – it is your sunglasses. And while everyone can sport a quintessential black-colored or mirrored pair, it takes real guts to flaunt one that is rainbow-hued. However, helping you do so with panache is Louis Vuitton that recently unveiled its new line of sunglasses which is wholly inspired by the wide-ranging colors of a rainbow.

Designed by Virgil Abloh, the series consists of two frames that are interpretations of classic shapes – the square and a rounder aviator-like version. While the square sunglasses are offered in black, camel, red, and yellow, the pilot style is presented in crystal, blue, and orange hues. The novel range is meant to celebrate the differences and variety that defines Abloh’s vision while transmitting a message of inclusivity with the use of the many differing colors.

Crafted in Italy, the shades are made entirely from one integrated piece, except for the hinges which are inspired from one of Louis Vuitton’s signature details in the S-Lock that featured on the Millionaire sunglasses. Each frame displays the quintessential “Louis Vuitton” branding subtly etched on the left corner of the lenses in a chic cursive font, along with the iconic “LV” monogram carved over the temples. The Louis Vuitton LV Rainbow Square & Pilot sunglasses are currently available online for $405 and $420 USD respectively. Fancy getting yourself a pair?
