World’s most expensive shoe is picked up by the designer shoe brand itself

When Roger Vivier decided to bring home a part of its legacy, we couldn’t help but applaud. After all, spending a whopping €19,750 (about $26,629) on a pair of shoes isn’t an act that we could turn away from. The French luxury accessory house, brought back to life by Diego della Valle eight years ago, has purchased this pair of shoes, an original Roger Vivier design hailing from the ’60s created for Princess Soraya. The pair was acquired at an auction of the designer’s personal collection and sported silver thread embroidery, topped with a topaz. Also, the fashion brand’s team compromising of Della Valle himself, artistic director Bruno Frisoni and brand ambassador Ines de la Fressange, has joined hands with the French Shoe Federation and the French State to buy back the collection of shoes, including those designed for rock and roll legend John Lennon and Elizabeth Taylor.
