Making fashion affordable and accessible for all is luxury fashion rental – My Wardrobe HQ. Led by former Topshop executive – Jane Shepherdson, the ingenious service has gained traction in the past few years and is now set to open at Soho’s trusted departmental store – Liberty.
As part of its sharing economy campaign, My Wardrobe HQ recently opened a pop-up within the London store. The shop features hand-picked goods dug out by Liberty experts, each of which are made available at extremely affordable rental fees. Amongst the luxury goods on offer, one can get their hands on a quilted cross-body Gucci Bag for as little as $31 (or 24 GBP) per day and rent out other such iconic pieces for a maximum of two weeks. Customers can also loan their own goods with the company and get paid for it in return.
Commenting on the pop-up, Shepherdson in a statement said – “A retail presence will enable us to discuss rental fashion on a one-on-one basis,” She further added – “There’s still a perception that borrowed clothes might be a bit smelly or dirty, but when they feel the quality of the garments (all My Wardrobe HQ pieces are cared for by toxic-free dry-cleaners, Blanc Living) they will be bowled over.” Well, why buy when you can rent?
