Ova Luminaire glows serenely

Inspired by the remains of sea life found on the beach, Ova Luminaire from UK design firm uses bone china and LED lights to create a serene, ethereal effect. Ova’s 21 unglazed white bone china egg-like forms are internally lit with a loom of LED lights, infusing the cascade of organic, pebble-like structures with incandescence. A discreet white hemispherical mounting assembly contains the mains transformer and affixes to the ceiling.

Each Ova has a unique, unearthly glow that speaks of generations of handcrafting and technique. The typical size is about 1 meter high but the fixture can be customized according to the space available. You can also choose to have lights in white, blue or a combination of the two inside the eggs, dictating the mood you want to cast into the room. Prices start at $1314 (£695).
