The $50,000 Polyedro sink is carved out of a single amethyst stone

Amethyst was considered a precious gemstone up to the 18th century. It was worn by royal including Catherine the Great, Cleopatra, Julius Caesar, and Marcus Aurelius. Franke’s collaboration with International Stone Collection’s Jake Levy gives you a high fashion accessory to add that luxury quotient to your bathroom.

Franke’s Polyedro design is a curious one by its self, with its geometric, multifaceted, diamond-cut bowl completely rediscovering the sink. Adding to that, Jake Levy decides to encrust the edgy sink with glittering bright amethyst gemstones. Cut from a single piece of Amethyst weighing over 500 lbs. Jake Levy selected just 80 lbs. of the stone, which then were hand placed patiently one at a time, completely covering the pointed angular sink base. Furthermore, the sink has Brazilian grey quartz bordering the top.
