HP and DreamWorks come out with LCD

The DreamColor LP2480xz is a venture of DreamWorks and HP. It has set everyone’s eyebrows up with the crazy promise of an unbelievable 30-bit color (1 billion colors) output. There are darker blacks, adjustable whites, deeper reds, blues, and greens to expect while using these. The colors seem crazy and promise a treat to the eyes. It provides a resolution of 1920 x 1200, 7 image presets, night-mode for those who would like to avoid straining their eyes while staring at the screen, and LED backlighting. The various ports available with this one include an HDMI, DisplayPort, 4-port USB hub, component, S-video, and composite port.

All these goodies come with their limitations. This LCD could be recommended to those who work on color more than real-time applications like games since the response time of the LCDs is a disappointing 6 ms as compared to the 2 ms from contemporary display screens.
