Nakamichi 52-inch LCD TV is inspired by kimono

Japanese kimono, which literally means “clothing”, is one of the world’s instantly recognizable traditional garments of Japan. Kimonos are a much less common sight these days and are usually only seen worn by older women or on special occasions. But Nakamichi has decided to revive the passion of this traditional outfit in an absolutely bizarre concept. They have created a 52-inch LCD TV ‘KIMONO 52’ with the concept of kimono. Exhibited during the Hong Kong Electronics Fair 2007, this kimono LCD supports 1920 x 1080 resolution, 178-degree viewing angle and 5000:1 contrast ratio.
