Urban Beehive is conceptualized to harvest honey at home

Who in their right mind wants to keep bees in their apartments. If Microbial Home Design has its way, their latest concept may catch on. The Dutch electronic company introduced their version of an eco-friendly beehive. The idea behind this beehive is anyone can harvest their own honey from the comforts of their home. The Urban Beehive is designed to be installed in an opening on a window. It is fitted with honeycomb frames which are visible through a tinted-glass shell. The outside has the entry passage and a flowerpot through which the bees are supposed to enter the hive. Once it’s filled with honey, it can be extracted with the release of smoke. Although the design of it is futuristic and appealing, we are skeptical if it would really work.
